New Democrat; new government; new way of doing things

The new Alberta government likely has new ideas on how to deal with the oil patch compared to the last party in power. The Tories were friends to industry.  No one is quite sure just yet just how friendly the New Democrats will turn out to be.

They are saying the right things, that the government realizes how important the oil industry is to the province and it is ready to work with the people in it. But after four decades of dealing with one party, change can be difficult.

This was the topic of discussion in one of the sessions at the Oil & Gas Awards Industry Summit in Calgary. The panelists discussed how the change came about and what to expect in the coming four years. A couple of warnings were tossed in for good measure.
