In the past month, four trains carrying oil have derailed across North America leading to fires, the evacuation of homes and in some cases the polluting of waterways.
Federal Transport Minister Lisa Raitt says wants to know what is going on and what can be done to prevent further incidents. So she would like to see CN appear before the House of Commons and have someone explain its operations that way it can be determined whether the railway company is co-operating with investigators.
A spokesman for CN, Mark Hallman, told The Canadian Press is reporting CN spokesperson Mark Hallman says the company is ready to appear before parliamentarians when asked.
