It doesn’t matter how it is being transported around the country the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) wants you to know the oil industry is doing all it can to prevent accidents.
CAPP V.P. Greg Stringham says his organization has pushed for a number of changes to rail transportation since the Lac Megantic tragedy and works with other transportation services, government and industry stakeholders. ” We want to reassure the public of our commitment to safety,” said Stringham.
Stringham told the Leader-Post, ” “The rail transportation market is adapting to the slow progress of new pipeline infrastructure, but regardless of how it fits in the mix, when we talk about increasing capacity for shipping our product, it can only happen if it is done safely.”
