The recent “facts” on the dangers of fracking cannot be allowed to be glossed over by those with a financial interest in the production of LNG. Anyone who believes there is no risk to the water table and our drinking water must be living in la la land.
The chemicals used contain volatile compounds such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene, and many more.
In total 1-8 million gallons of water may be used to frack a well and a well may be fracked up to 18 times. Roughly 30-50 per cent of the water is recovered from the well and this waste water will be highly toxic. They expect us to believe that the rest of this toxic mix will not contaminate the ground water….well excuse me but what type of idiot do these companies think we are? This of course will not prevent the extraction of LNG there is too much money to be made out of this venture but here is a message for the manager of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, (CAPP), Geoff Morrison, please spare us the patronising platitudes, when our water is no longer fit for consumption please explain to us what the CAPP plans to do to rectify the situation.
